To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Genesis BBQ Group hosted a commemorative event with franchise families, partners, and employees nationwide.

 

 

Chairman Yoon Hong-geun of Genesis BBQ Group stated, “The 30-year history of Genesis BBQ Group is the history created by franchise families, employees, and partners,” adding,

“To move toward becoming a millennial company, we organized a Family Festival and recognition awards for families and partners on this anniversary to express our gratitude.”

 

 

Through this event, Genesis BBQ Group reflected on its 30-year journey that began with its founding on September 1, 1995, and the opening of its first bb.q store

in Jeongok, Gyeonggi Province. The company also declared its vision and future strategy of opening 50,000 stores worldwide by 2030.

 

 

 

Chairman Yoon once again emphasized that “The reason bb.q was able to grow into a global brand from its very first store in 1995 was the dedication of

franchise families, employees, and partners,” and expressed his sincere gratitude.

On September 1, Genesis BBQ Group celebrated its 30th anniversary by holding the “2025 Genesis BBQ Family Festival” at Inspire Resort in Incheon.

The two-day event, held from September 1 to 2 at Inspire Entertainment Resort in Incheon and nearby hotels, welcomed more than 5,500 participants,

including franchisees and their families, partners, and headquarters staff.

 

 

During the event, Genesis BBQ expressed gratitude to franchise families, partners, and employees who have been part of its 30-year journey, presenting special awards and recognizing those

with the highest sales growth to honor their achievements and dedication.
The company also presented plaques of appreciation and gold bars to partner firms,

acknowledging that BBQ’s growth was only possible thanks to those who walked alongside them.

 

 

Notably, the event also featured a meaningful award highlighting BBQ’s commitment to community partnership. A “Hero Award” was presented to middle school student Lim Ji-ho, who rescued four elderly residents with mobility difficulties in Yeongdeok,

North Gyeongsang Province. BBQ honored his bravery with 130 million KRW (approx. $95,000) in support for home restoration and educational expenses.

 

 

Following the awards ceremony, a concert featuring some of Korea’s top performers—including Davichi, Hong Jin-young, and Sung Si-kyung—brought over 5,500 attendees

together in celebration. Participants exchanged messages of gratitude and encouragement, adding deeper meaning to the occasion.

 

 

Looking ahead, Genesis BBQ Group pledged to prioritize shared growth with franchise families, partners, and local communities

as it works toward expanding to 50,000 stores worldwide.

The company also aims to evolve into a sustainable global group encompassing food, lifestyle, sports, culture, and eco-friendly initiatives.
