: Columbia is a key market
Master Franchise Agreement Signed with Bebeku Inc.
Chicken franchise Genesis BBQ Global is accelerating its expansion into the South American market, following its successful entry into North and Central America. On August 24, Genesis BBQ Global signed a Master Franchise (MF) agreement with Colombia-based Bebeku Inc. The signing ceremony was attended by Genesis BBQ Group Chairman Yoon Hong-geun and Bebeku Inc. CEO Michael Park, along with key executives from both companies, marking a new chapter of global partnership.
Colombia is the second most populous country in South America. Bebeku Inc., which began its business in New York, has built extensive experience in the F&B (Food and Beverage) sector. Currently operating its own QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) brand, the company is expected to leverage its localization expertise
to drive the successful establishment of bb.q in the Colombian market.
Following the signing of the master franchise agreement, representatives from Bebeku Inc. participated in the MF Business Program at Chicken University in Icheon, Korea. Through additional training, both parties strengthened their operational expertise and competitiveness, laying the foundation for early market entry and long-term growth.
Currently, Genesis BBQ Global operates in 57 countries worldwide, including the United States, Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas. With the new Colombia agreement, the company plans to accelerate its expansion into South America, once again proving the global strength of K-Chicken. Michael Park, CEO of Bebeku Inc., said: "At first, I simply thought of bb.q as a global brand known for its delicious chicken. However, after experiencing its unique franchise operating system and infrastructure such as Chicken University firsthand, I became convinced. We will work together to ensure that bb.q expands throughout Central and South America, starting with Colombia as a strategic foothold.
"
Yoon Hong-geun, Chairman of Genesis BBQ Group, stated "Colombia serves as a strategic bridge connecting Central and South America, and it is a key market to accelerate the global expansion of K-Food. We will spread the taste and culture of K-Food across South America and further solidify BBQ’s position as a beloved global brand."
