bb.q Chicken Panama Opens its 2nd Store at Albrook Shopping Mall
On July 30, 2023, bb.q Chicken Panama opened its second store at Albrook Shopping Mall, the largest shopping mall in Panama and all of Latin America. This new location builds upon the success of their first flagship store, which was opened on May 25, 2023, at Plaza Spot, C. 74 in the San Francisco neighborhood of Panama City.
The first flagship store has been consistently achieving
high sales figures, exceeding its break-even point (BEP) by more than double. The
customers fell in love with Korea’s finest fried chicken and were hoping for
more chances to taste the same delicious bb.q chicken in Panama.
Willing to meet the demands of enthusiastic customers, bb.q Chicken Panama opened its second store in the heart of the largest mall in Latin America, Albrook Shopping Mall. The mall has about 400 businesses and attracts up to 50,000 visitors per day and about a quarter of them are foreigners.
Chairman Yoon from Genesis BBQ Group attended the grand opening of the second store on July 30. Chairman Yoon extended congratulations on the successful launch of the store and expressed a plan to expand operations into Latin America, leveraging the valuable experience gained from operating in Panama.
The event was covered by the prominent Panamanian media outlets of Medcom and Channel 5. The famous dance group known as Phoenix Dance Cover was also present at the event and added a lively atmosphere with their performance. Consisting of 10 dancers, Phoenix Dance Cover performed next to the merry-go-round located in the center of the food court and attracted many crowds. Moreover, numerous social media influencers were in attendance to document the occasion and share the message. After the dance performance, hostesses began distributing samples for otherwise wandering, unknowing customers and helped spread the taste of delicious bb.q chicken.
The express-type store is located at the food court carousel of the mall and has an area of 50 square meters, which is smaller than the flagship store of an area of 200 square meters. However, the Albrook store can accommodate a large number of people thanks to its spacious food court with a seating capacity of 2,000. In addition, due to its convenient location near the Albrook Gelabert International Airport and the Grand National Transport Terminal, the bb.q brand can expand not only in Panama but throughout Latin America. The terminal is the main bus terminal of Panama and offers connections to other destinations throughout Central America and Mexico as the primary transportation hub with an annual circulation of 55 million travelers. The Albrook store can consequently serve as a gateway to experiencing the best Korean fried chicken for not only Panamanians but also other Central Americans. Taking advantage of this unique opportunity, bb.q plans to expand throughout entire Panama as well as other neighboring nations in the upcoming years, as already has set dates for the opening of the first flagship store in Costa Rica in September, followed by a second store in October.
